Ovens, cooktops and steam ovens repaired in Woodinville
Woodinville's newer houses tend to have kitchens built for company: double wall ovens, warming drawers, steam ovens and wide ranges. Downtown, the apartments run simpler electric ranges. We repair both, eighteen to twenty-three minutes from our shop.

Woodinville incorporated in 1993 and is known far beyond the region for its wine country, roughly 130 wineries and tasting rooms spread from the Sammamish River valley to the Hollywood district, where the 1910 Hollywood Farm and 1912 schoolhouse still stand. Gold Creek Park, site of the 1969 Seattle Pop Festival, recalls how rural the valley was not long ago. Its housing is young: about 44% of homes date from 2000 or later and another 37% from 1980 to 1999. In the hills above the valley that means large houses with kitchens planned for entertaining, and in our experience those kitchens are more likely than most to carry a second oven, a warming drawer, a steam or combination oven, or a 36- or 48-inch range with two oven cavities.
The other Woodinville kitchen is downtown, where about a quarter of all homes sit in buildings of fifty or more units. Those apartments generally have standard electric ranges with glass tops and hidden bake elements, and their repairs look much like any other apartment's. Between the two, the town splits almost evenly on heating fuel, 51% electric and 47% gas, so we arrive ready for gas igniters and spark modules as well as elements, sensors and boards. Built-in ovens are trickier to reach than freestanding ranges, and we allow time to slide a wall oven out of its cabinet safely. Warming drawers and second ovens get used mostly for holidays and parties, so their faults tend to surface on the busiest cooking day of the year.
Built-in oven and range trouble in Woodinville kitchens
Steam oven asks for descaling far more often than expected
- Likely cause
- Water-level or scale sensor reading wrong, or a skipped descale
- What we do
- Run the descale cycle with you, then test the sensor and pump
Warming drawer stays cool
- Likely cause
- Failed heating element or drawer thermostat
- What we do
- Test both and replace the part that has failed
Lower oven in a double unit will not hold heat
- Likely cause
- Sensor or element on the lower cavity
- What we do
- Test that cavity's circuits on their own
Wide range: one oven cavity works, the other does not
- Likely cause
- Separate igniter or element on the second cavity
- What we do
- Diagnose the second cavity's ignition or heating circuit
Convection mode heats, but the fan never spins
- Likely cause
- Seized convection fan motor
- What we do
- Replace the motor and check the element ring around it
Glass-top hot-surface light stays on long after cooling
- Likely cause
- Indicator switch or control fault
- What we do
- Test the indicator circuit and replace the switch or board
Snow, outages and soft Tolt water
Woodinville gets its power and gas from Puget Sound Energy. That simplifies one thing: if you ever smell gas in the kitchen, PSE is the call, at 1-888-225-5773 or 911, made from outside after everyone has left the house. It also means PSE's storms are Woodinville's storms. More than 400,000 PSE customers lost power in the November 2024 bomb cyclone, and on April 18, 2008, a convergence-zone band dropped 6.5 inches of snow on the town. Steam ovens, induction cooktops and electronic wall ovens all need electricity, and some come back after an outage showing error codes. Switching the oven's breaker off for a minute often clears them; if not, we test the controls.
The Woodinville Water District buys from Seattle's Tolt supply, which is soft, at roughly 1.2 to 1.4 grains per gallon. Soft water slows scale in a steam oven but does not stop it, so the descale prompts still matter. Follow the manual's schedule and use the descaler it names; when a steam oven nags for descaling every few days, the cause is usually a sensor or pump rather than the water.
In the downtown apartment buildings, a tenant can set up the visit, and we call the owner or manager to okay the price before any part is replaced. Those kitchens mostly have glass-top electric ranges with hidden bake elements, and the repairs go quickly once the range is out of its opening.
Woodinville repair starting prices
Oven and range repair in Woodinville starts at $259. Bake and broil elements, oven temperature sensors and control boards for ranges and wall ovens are the regular jobs. Steam ovens, warming drawers and premium wide ranges often run a good deal higher than standard ones, and we price them for your model before ordering anything. The figure is where the category begins in our area, not a quote for your kitchen; the exact number is written up after the $85 diagnostic, which is included in any repair you approve.

Repairing integrated appliances versus replacing them
In the larger Woodinville kitchens, ovens are often built into custom cabinetry, sometimes as a matching set with a warming drawer or steam oven. Replacing one piece can mean new trim, a different cutout, or a unit that no longer matches its neighbors, so repair usually wins as long as parts are available. Elements, sensors, fans, door hinges, igniters and most boards for these brands can still be ordered for many years after purchase. The exception is a discontinued control on an older built-in, where the only path may be a new unit, and we will tell you that before you spend money on diagnostics beyond the first visit. Downtown apartment ranges are simpler: if the repair comes in well under the price of a comparable new range, fix it; if the glass top is cracked on a budget model, the owner may prefer to replace. A failed fan or hinge on an expensive built-in, on the other hand, is never a reason to replace it.
Common questions
Do you repair steam ovens and warming drawers?
Yes. We repair steam and combination ovens, warming drawers, double wall ovens and wide ranges, along with standard gas and electric ranges and cooktops. Some parts for premium brands are ordered rather than carried, so the first visit may be diagnosis and a written price, with a second short visit to fit the part.
Our power was out and now the oven shows an error. What should we try?
Switch the oven's breaker fully off, wait about a minute, then back on. Many electronic controls reset that way after a storm outage. If the error returns or the display stays blank, leave it off and book a visit. We test the board, its fuses and the power supply before recommending a part.
Do premium ranges and wall ovens cost more to repair?
Often, though the visit is not the reason. The $85 diagnostic and our process are the same for every brand. Steam ovens, wide pro-style ranges and some European built-ins use costlier, harder-to-source components than a standard range, so those repairs sit toward the top of the oven and range category, and we quote your exact model in writing before ordering anything.
Do you come out to the Hollywood area and the hills around town?
Yes. All of Woodinville is in our service area, with no distance surcharge, and most addresses are eighteen to twenty-three minutes from our shop off-peak. Get in touch in the morning from Monday to Saturday and we can usually schedule you that day. Let us know about gates or long driveways when you book.
Can you look at the dishwasher on the same visit?
Yes. If another appliance in the kitchen needs a look while we are there, we check it on the same trip and take $10 off its diagnostic. Mention it when you book so we bring the right parts. Each appliance gets its own written price, and you decide on each repair separately.
